Every bite was flavourful and amazing. Atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and inviting. It was a high end fine dining meal without the high end prices. Vegetarian options can be challenging to find and are often quite bland. Absolutely not the case with the Crispy Tofu Steak and spring rolls I enjoyed this weekend. Rich in flavour and well presented, I was very pleased with my meal and look forward to trying other options on the menu. While waiting for my meal I heard another table discussing how good their food was too. This restaurant is a little gem located in Rockingham on the Bedford Highway. We love Chef Ivan. We were visiting Maritimes last week and this restaurant was on our itinerary. We planned to only go once but because it was SO DELICIOUS we ended up visiting twice. Chef Ivan and team were so friendly and welcoming, and we appreciated that Ivan went above and beyond to make sure that everything was absolutely perfect. The Orient is a must try. This was by far the best meal I had in Halifax/Bedford. We were greeted by a really nice server to start. We ordered the peking duck spring roll things, and they were incredible. The flavours were perfect. 3 of us ate family style - stir fried rice with shrimp, shanghai noodles, braised pork belly with celeriac puree and some daikon, sweet and sour pork, fried wontons. During the dinner we were greeted by Chef Ivan. He's just a very real person and an incredible chef.
